I came into possession of a Targus Universal Wireless Keyboard (PA870 V3). I heard it will work with the X51V but cannot get it to work. After installing the appropriate drivers the problem occurs when trying to enable to the keyboard. An error informs me that the IR port is already in use and to uncheck the "Allow all incoming transfers" under the Beam options. After unchecking that box the error still appears.

Targus and Dell have been no no help.

Any help will be appreciated

Did you try a soft reset after disabling the incoming beams? Generally that shouldn't be required, but sometimes it helps.

Yeah i tried that to no avail... but thanks for the help.
