Cheap Router /w Carrying Case
My friend stopped by a few days ago from out of state. He had a Wireless Router for traveling. He claimed he got it for like $10 after the mailin rebate. This included the very small connection cable to the router to modem (Cat5). And of course the wireless router for the x51v. I was wondering if anyone knew any links for a small wireless router & traveling case for real cheap for possibly traveling ....

There are several companies that make these travel routers, such as Netgear, Linksys and Dlink. Try Googling for "travel router" and you will be able to see what's available. Then try Froogle or other price comparison sites for pricing.

BTW, why don't you just ask your friend for the model number of his?

I remember when both dlink and netgear had rebates on their travel (pocket) router, but it has been at least 2 years since I"ve seen that. I suggest you do a price search to find the best buy. Several companies make them - Belkin, linksys, dlink and apple -- good luck in your search.

I have a dlink which I got for about 35 on special and it works great.

I have a Motorola WA840G that I got for $5 AR a few years back. It's pretty small already but the actual board inside is just a little larger than a credit card - something to keep in mind if you want to replace the case. The main reason why it's smaller is because it does not have a built in switch like most wireless routers. It also has a removable antenna if you want to replace it with a better one.
BTW, I'm installing OpenWRT on mine to make it more useful. I added a SD slot for more storage. I have plans of making it into a firewalled wireless adapter for use with public hotspots.

I'm looking for a wireless router for my x51v, I looked at that one you showed me. I don't think that one supports wireless.
