Cases for EXTENDED battery users? x51v
What are some good cases for extended battery users?

I just found that my axim locks up when I use regular leather case and it pushes BIG time and squeezes the device. So, I can't uses cases for regular battery while using extended battery...

G'day,
Have a rat thru Cases.com from the site link. I use the PDAir Aluminium case. Works well. Only change I'd ask for is a cutout for the on/off switch. Maybe I'll even get enegetic and drill one one day.
BTW you can fit the Axim with extended battery in the Dell-supplied slip case. I did this whilst awaiting the PDAir. Works.
Cheers

I use the PDAir Aluminum case as well. The case works well to prevent any type of accidental button pushes...and it includes an extra SD card slot as well

Of course it would have problems if you are trying to put the Axim with the extended battery in a leather case meant for the standard battery! Leather stretches, but the case would be warped by the extended battery bulge, causing it to pull on the case in unpredictable ways. I would not try that as it may twist the case, causing damage.

I use the Sena extended battery case for my X51v, and if I find I need to use the case without the extended battery, I have a piece of foam packing material that I insert behind the Axim. That only happened once when both of my extended batteries were dead, and I was heading out the door.

The aluminum cases for the extended battery look like they grip from the sides, so it may be possible to use both battery types in it. It would just have some "dead space" behind the PDA whenusing the standard battery. Of course that is just what I see from the pictures of the cases, so check with the vendor first.

G'day,
Perfectly right. The PDAir will work with both extended (2200) and standard batteries. As you say you just have some air space behind if you only have the standard battery.

Cheers

If you want a leather case, I strongly recommend the Sena Extended battery case. I am delighted with mine. It is the ONLY case in which you can charge and sync your PDA in its cradle without having to remove it from the case. This save a great deal of hassle.

I suggest that you buy from cases.com who not only give excellent service but also give a discount to Aximsite Members (at least they used to).

Thanks, davrol, I was wondering how the Sena case was for the extended battery. Previously, I did get the nice deal they had on an extended battery and aluminum case. That case is nice, but I really liked the similar Sena case I used on my Ipaq. The discount code *does* still work, just used it!
