Much of a muchness as far as the speed is concerned, that is limited axim side. SD card is limited to standard SD, 2Gb, I have a standard SD 4Gb but they are hard to find. Make sure you don't go for SDHC, don't work. CF cards are getting a lot larger, but price is restrictive. In my x51 I've got a 8Gb CF that just plugged and played.
:)

I have a 8gb CF card and a 4gb SD card in my X51V. Both work great. I also have a 8gb micro drive CF but that is not relegated to pictures of my entire home and is stored in my bank box.

I don't even bother with cf cards. sd cards are pretty inexpensive. have a few that I pull out back and forth depending on the programs I'm using.

I've heard that 16GB and 32GB CF flash memory cards are coming soon to retail. Will those work in my X50V?

There are already 16GB CF cards on the market. There was the A-data that went for 108 recently. I'm thinking about dropping some moola on this sometime in the near future. Tough thing about CF cards is to find a future device that will use them as well. thank for for the Hp 211 that is coming out that uses dual card slots.

Welcome to the site Miguel. with the introduction of WM5 a new feature came to the axim " persistent memory" enabling the x51 to go completely flat but retain whatever data is stored. Whereas x50 goes flat, Nada.
Have a look at this

In a nutshell, though im sure someone will correct me ;)
You have more in-built rom as a physical difference, but software is WM5 instead of 2003se - but thats upgradable.

Regarding removable memory for Axim x50v: on CF we can get several speeds and in SD they are talking only HC, will you explain a little more?

I have a 4gb CF microdrive (Hitachi) - well, several, I download the stuff from the DVR each night to watch during the next day. And a 4gb SD card, giving me about 14 hours of video I can watch on demand. Both work just fine in the Axim, the microdrive sucking just a tad more power than the SD, but since I've got two batteries, I just charge one while blowing the other.

All in all, get both - 4gb CF and a 4gb SD. (I got mine from woot.com when they were available.)
