I am going to be finally getting a portable/travel charging and synchronizing solution for the Axim x50 to replace my barely working cradle.

I am hoping for some tips on which models are good to buy off of Ebay. I don't want to end up with a crappy accessories that fries my Axim or doesn't do what it's supposed. I need something to help me charge from an electrical source and sync via USB. I also want to be able to use the Axim while it's charging.

Can you name some reliable brand names that I can buy with a good conscience? (Ebay doesn't really offer reviews or quality guarantees)

It's a long thread, but I'd suggest you read this thread first. It has a good discussion on the power demands of the Axim series and how the pins on the bottom connector are configured to protect against those demands on the USB ports. There are some good cables out there, and some not-so-good. Just be aware that any that say they can charge and sync at the same time are bypassing that overload protection and may damage the USB port if you connect up with a really low battery.
