Why I _don't_ like my Sena case
Based on excitement-drippin' reviews of Sena cases, I bought one for my X51v with extended battery.

The good part is, it's well made, it fits in cradle so it doesn't have to be taken out for charging, it's slim, and it's a nice tan color.

Now, the bad. The front cover is fairly soft, unlike the cover on the Krusell case that I had on my old iPaq. When I have a SD card in the slot, any slight bump or pressure makes it touch the screen and, if the unit is not yet in sleep mode, start something up - e.g. open an appointment if it happens to be in Today screen.

This is a major, major hassle. I don't use belt clips. I carry Ax in my pocket. I had to install MortSaver and map it to the record button and now I have to remember to press it whenever I am about to put the device in my pocket, and then I have to press it again to exit screensaver mode. (Forget about using the Lock button, at least on my unit it takes quite an effort to slide, esp. if I am only using one hand).

This was not a problem until I started carrying a SD card in the special "pocket" on the flip.

I am not sure how much protection it offers from anything other than scratches. I broke the screen on my old iPaq by walking into a steel guard - and the Krussel case had much stronger, harder to bend flip.

Anyway, this is just the word of caution for those who think of buying this case. Sena is one of the more expensive brands, they should've done better.

Throw a couple of business cards in there and you're golden.

bikegeek is right. The Sena is the best case I ever owned. I got into the habit of using the hold button. It became second nature. My new device doesn't have a hold button and always turns itself on. Plus, Sena doesn't make a case for it. I'm bumming!

Not really, the pocket for the cards (I actually put a credit-sized plastic card in there) is smaller than the screen and the flap, so the entire card just flexes in with flap.

I assume you had a phone ?

I don't want to be using lock, hold or mortsaver button. I didn't have to with Krussell, the flap was just much stiffer and had a slightly convex shape, taking it away from screen in the middle.

It would be an excellent case if it didn't have this issue.

It sounds like if you used a thicker stiffer piece of plastic it might solve the problem.

I had an x50v like you. By the way, I had never heard of Mortsaver before. After you mentioned it, I downloaded it and love it! Thanks!

I never had any problems accessi the lock switch on my X50v with extended battery in its Sena case. I wish all PDAs and PDA Phones had one.

Amamba, I have to agree with you; I've had some appointments, etc. get messed up because of the pressure from the SD card. However, I've noticed to be a problem only when I have ONE card inserted; if I have two, the pressure seems to be "even" enough to avoid this. Also, like the others have said, the lock switch does the job too. All in all, I still love my Sena; it's still held up and looking practically new after quite a few years now. Plus, the ability to sync with it is worth the price to me alone.
