Has anyone tried the GPS for the Axim x51v? I want a GPS unit and would like to use what Dell offers, but if it's not that great, Garmin or TomTom it will be. Thanks.

I have the Dell BT GPS & have not had any issues with it. There are packages that do have better software & maps. I have not used anyone else software & maps. So I really can't say that one is better than the other.

The Dell software has its own quirks. Normally I keep the voice prompts off because it gets annoying. The GPS will say that its 5 miles to the next turn. Sometime well short of the five miles it will tell me to turn off. Granted this has only been on two lane highways. If there was shorter route or better route why would it chose that route in the first place?

I have also noticed it will calculate one way to a destination but it will calculate a different route on the return. For instance it will pick a freeway on the return.

One other reason is that Navteq has not updates their maps in over a year.
