A2DP and 50v ..revisted

I know this topic has been covered extensively on this site and others. The more I read the more confused I get. I want to use a a2dp headset on my Axim 50v 2003. From what I am reading it should be possible, I just cant figure out how to do it.

Can someone please give me simple instructions on what to do?

running 2003 second edition

I installed the HP patch but a2dp isn't working. I have done 2 soft rests and still showing BT-PPC ver 1,50 build 2601. I thought I should be showing Version: 1.6.0.0700 (9 Mar 2005). Is there another step to get it to install, or another way ?

What headphones are you using? I used that same patch on my WM2003 X50v and got a2dp working just fine with old Logitech Bluetooth headphones. Also, to enable a2dp you need to explicitly go to Bluetooth Connection Manager (Start > Settings > Connections Tab > Bluetooth > Bluetooth Manager). Then tap and hold on the headphones icon and select Connect.

On WM5 and WM6, the headphones will automatically connect, but on WM2003, you need to manually do this every time.

I am trying to use the Motorola s9 headset. I tried the steps outlined above but it still didn't work. It seems like if the HP driver is the fix it hasn't fully installed.

Still trying to figure it out.

I am still trying to figure this out. I tried to run the install again through Activsynch. I can see it listed in the apps list and when installing get a message that BtCeAvIf.dll is in use or in Rom. And then I get a message that BtCeAvIf must be copied for the application to work correctly. Try copying again? But it won't copy and goes back to the original file in use screen. I can only assume this is the driver.

I still cant get stereo to play through.

Any other suggestions or help....

Yes, it sounds like the install is trying to overwrite the existing Bluetooth driver while it's running. I vaguely remember running into the same thing. Try this:

- Make sure Bluetooth is NOT running.
- In your favorite file explorer (e.g. Resco), go to \Windows\Startup and move BTTrayCE.lnk to some other location; e.g. cut it and paste it to \SD Card.
- Do a soft reset. You should not see the Bluetooth icon in the lower right anymore.
- Run the setup program for the a2dp driver.
- Go into file explorer again and move BTTrayCE.lnk back to its original location. Do another soft reset.

Hope this helps!

Misery loves company

Sorry I can't help you out. I have the same problem.
I have an X50v with A03 on it and Windows WM2003. I downloaded the HP patch. I moved BTTrayCE.lnk and then installed the HP drivers through ActiveSync. Then moved it back.
It never gave me any error messages but the version showing on information for Bluetooth is 1.5.0.2061 and not the expected 1.6.0.0700. I can use my Logitech Bluetooth headphones but there are pops and skips periodically and the sound sometimes has static behind it when playing mp3. This occurs in both TCPMP and Windows Media Player.

There is a new file on the PDA labelled Broadcom Corporation BT-PPC AV Upgrade but it has no extension to tell whether it is an .exe file or .cab and Windows doesn't recognise it and apparantly do anythign with it.

I've read through all the links on Aximsite and followed all the instructions that I could find without success.
HELP!!!

shistavanen: If you are able to use your Bluetooth headphones, that means the a2dp driver is working. WM2003 SE does not have a2dp support built in. Not sure why the version doesn't appear to match up.

Now the pops and skips are another issue which I also experienced with my Logitech Bluetooth headphones. To fix these, I installed Sleuth255's ad2pfix patch on xda-developers.com. At least for me, this patch produced crystal clear audio. Hope this helps!

Almost there

OK, I dug a litle deeper and read a few different posts. In Windows Media Player, the sound is perfect as long as I never move the volume on the PDA. If I have moved it even a little, I get pops until I soft reset the X50v. I still seem to get pops in TCPMP V0.71. Anyone know if this is fixed in 0.72RC1 or Coreplayer? Does the hardware mixer patch fix this?
