Thank you again Gigi for the valuable information.

I am going to get one extended battery this month, after solving some issues with my Ax.
I think I'm going to get those 2200 mAh with big discounts... but really considering buying the 1800 mAh too

I have a Dell purchased 2200 mAh battery for my X51V. It is twice the thickness of the standard Dell purchased 1100 mAh batteries that I have. It also requires another battery door to accommodate the additional thickness. My battery does give me twice the amount of usage IMHO over the 1100 mAh batteries I have.

I purchased a 2200mAh Battery for my Dell X50. It is twice the thickness of the original one. Since Li-Ion can not be densified that much, same size double capacity, I seriously doubt about the real capacity of your battery.

I looked at this site and ordered a battery from them. Glad to hear it is working for you. I went to their USA site and it was almost $13 for the battery and $9 for the shipping. Still a good price if they work. I have had my original since i got my x50v almost 3 years ago now and it is really starting to show the time. You can almost see the battery meter moving on it but I can still get a good 3 hours on it playing Solitaire on a plane as long as BT and WiFi are off so it will be a good spare for a while yet.
Thanks.

my first "extended" battery from ebay looked the same as the original - and nothing like the one from dell's site here Dell : DELL 2200 mAh Extended Battery for Dell Axim X50/ X51 Handhelds, RoHS Compliant : Handhelds & Tablet PCs :

after fighting the seller for a while - especially because i was supposed to send it back and pay more for shipping than the battery value - i just gave up and bought one for $15 shipped which the seller first confirmed that the thickness matched dell's and it came with the battery door. the fake seller still has tons of listings of the fake 2200 and 700k+ positive feedback from ppl who are happy it fits just like the original battery

i guess the point is to ask first, then bid

my "real" 2200 extended battery is approximately double usage time for me too compared to standard dell.

so, I've bought the 2250 mah one from megacapacity.com.
High Capacity Battery For: DELL Axim X50 , X50V X51, X51V Extended 310-5965 / U6192 Li-ion 2250mAh - Quick Car Charger For: DELL Dell Axim X50, X50V, X51, X51V

it arrived 3 days ago (took about 3 weeks from hong kong to the destination, but as the tracking info, it was in Brazil for a week or more before I recieved it) and I charged it and used yesterday. Seems very fine, i've used wifi for about 2 hours and it consumed 50% of the battery.

So, that's the tip. I think it was a great deal.

Btw, it is double the size of the original one, came with another door as usual.
May I ask you that already have spair batteries, how do you take them with you? Do you have a case or something?

I have a little gadget bag that I carry all my little odds and ends in. retractable USB cables, spare cheap headphones, card readers, AA rechargers and the charger, etc. I put the battery in a small plastic bag to prevent accidental contact to the contacts and ignore it until needed.

My official 2200 battery doesn't work anymore. I don't know what has happened. It charges and I'm able to flash firmware:s but I'm unable to power up the device to the operating system.

So I'm thinking about buying a new battery, maybe even stronger. I was looking at the 2400mAh battery on Ebay. Would it work with the PDair case and what do you think of the battery?

wow - that looks awesome. But, I have never seen one before.

If you get it you will have to tellus how well it lasted. I am taking a trip to Vietnam -16hour plane ride. IT would be nice to have a battery that lasted a little while - eh?

I may get one but from what I've gathered this doesn't even work with a aluminium case made for 2200mAh extended batteries, thus neither the PDair and Rhino case for X50/51/v with extended battery will work.

Still the 3600mAh looks legit to me and there have been threads about it in this section. The only problem I see is the size and the weight.

So I'm thinking about getting 2 2200mAh (one spare) for serious usage and one 3600mAh for testing.

Got one 2200mAh and one 3600mAh. The 3600mAh is very big as I suspected and says it has short protection. Sounds good to me. I'm calibrating my 2200mAh at the moment which will take a long time because I'm barely using the device. I think I'm going to put a looping video or something on it.

How did the 3600 battery work out? I'm looking at one on ebay also.
