I have a 2GB SD Card (for ebooks, docs and applications), 4GB Microdrive (for musics and videos) installed on my X50. Recently, I am watching a lot of videos (TV series, youtube, etc) on my X50, and the capacity of my 4GB Microdrive is the obvious limitation there. And my laptop has a built-in 4-in-1 card adapter ( CF Card not supported). This makes the SDHC my priority for capacity and convenience sake.
![]() The OS on my X50 is PPC2003SE and it has no native SDHC driver, so I bought a 16GB SDHC and a SD/SDHC to CF Adapter from eBay. CF Adapter: SDHC/SD/MMC to CompactFlash CF Card Adapter Converter - eBay (item 280204933168 end time Mar-02-08 09:22:06 PST) SDHC Class 6: 150X 16GB ADATA Turbo SDHC Class6 Memory Card 16 G GB - eBay (item 190201819758 end time Mar-03-08 06:30:24 PST) It is very easy to use. The SDHC can easily fit in the CF Adapter. And when I inserted the CF Adapter into the CF slot in my X50, the OS recognized it as a CF Card and reported a total of 15.40GB storage. Now I have 2GB SD + 16GB SDHC and I am really happy with them. SDHC is super fast. Write speed is 10MB/s on my laptop, so it saved a lot of time for me to transfer large video files from my laptop to the SDHC card. And the copying speed between my SD and SDHC is 1MB/s on X50, I think it's because the SD Card is slower than SDHC. ![]() PS. SD and SDHC consume less power than my 4GB Hitachi Microdrive. The battery lasts longer. It is awesome! ![]()

That's a great idea! I'm definitely going to look into getting one of these adapters for my X50v (running WM2003SE). Thanks for sharing!

This is great and for sure one option for the X50.
I bought a 4gb Kingston SDHC and is not recognized in my X50V, 624 mhz, A05. I tried also the driver SDHC.cab found in this site and also this one is not recognizing my SD card (including all other SD cards) and I removed it. Are there any other options for SDHC recognition?? Thanks in advance for answers. ![]() ![]() ![]()
