x50v browser too old for new CradlepointMBR1000
Hey Folks. I fired up my new Cradlepoint MBR1000 evdo router attached to my Novatel u727 Sprint modem; my old pc hard wired to it works great, my Vista laptop works great wirelessly, however my Axim x50v (2003se) tries to authenticate within pocked IE (after logging on to the network successfully) and the Cradlepoint page that comes up automatically says I need to update my browser and locks me out. Aarggh! I've tried Webby and Opera in the past and was somewhat underwhelmed. Any suggestions on a work-around, or do I need to try a new browser, and if so, which one... Thanks in advance, as always

I never used your setup, but I don't see that you have anything to lose in trying this freeware app to have PocketIE "pretend" to be a more modern browser ...

TogglePIE - utility for Pocket IE

Great idea! However, I tried it with no success; I tried setting it to IE6, 7, and Firefox and it made no difference; I still get the "outdated browser" message Thanks for the reply though.

Would it be possible for you to turn off authentication?

I had a CTR-350 and now use a PHS-300, but I disabled the login page.

TogglePIE works fine in most cases but doesn't do the full job - it still reports: PPC; 240x320 (even on a X50v)
I'm using PIEplus - which can do a better MSIE6 or even a custom emulation.

Maybe worth a try ?
