Aximsitex50icon My X51V will not read SD cards

Recently my new x51v has begun to not SD cards; does anyone have a fix. The largest cards that I am using are the 512 MB models.

A little more information would help.

Is it all cards all the time?
Did anything change about the same time as it stopped reading the cards? ie: did you install any new software.
Have you soft reset the Ax and tried again?
Can you read the cards in a card reader?
One of the most common reasons for this is addressed in this thread.
Solution - Axim not turning on, Disappearing CF/SD Cards and Battery Discharge

Also, what ROM version is your Ax running?
A01, A06 or A12?
If it is A12 then you have the most up to date Dell ROM release, which I believe fixed many issues.
But if you have anything lower than that you might want to consider upgrading.

The original revisions of the X51V did have issues with SD and CF cards not being recognized. If you unit is not at the last upgrade Dell issues (A12) I would first suggest you to that upgrade. In addition to the memory issue the A12 upgrade solved most if not all other issues this unit was suffering from. There are other OS upgrades that will put your unit at a WM6 or WM6.1 level which will allow you to use SDHC cards of any capacity in your unit. Those can be found with a simple google search. This advise is given with the assumption you have confirmed that the card is working! :approve:

Icon13 CF/SD card

Yeah, I have the latest operating system and I have not installed anything on my Axim. I tried the recommended fix to no avail.

I have verified that the SD cards are working properly; I hope that someone can offer some assistance on this matter.

Having eliminated the cards themselves as an issue, the OS as an issue what remains is the unit itself. There is always the chance that the CF and SD ports on your unit are bad. Have some one else with the identical unit test your cards out. If they work correctly then the units ports are the issue (which is not a good thing).
