External STEREO mic for the Axim X51v - possible?
I'm interested to hear about any experiences anyone out there may have had with external microphones on the X51v. In particular:
  • Is stereo recording with an external stereo microphone possible with the Axim? If so, is some kind of adapter cable required?
  • How's the sound quality with an external microphone?
  • What software did you use? A third-party application, or the provided Notes application?
I looked at the Sony ECM-DS70P, and it looked promising. But I've since discovered that the Axim can't power a plug-in power microphone.

I'd prefer not to go the Bluetooth route, but if it's the only way to get stereo recordings with an external microphone, I'll consider it. Also, I'm not looking for recommendations for other devices.

Cheers

What do you plan to record with the PDA? Here are a few old links I found a while back. The first one covers your question quite extensively:

Audio Recording with X50v - Stereo?

Core Sound's PDAudio CF card:
Core Sound — PDAudio®

A discussion of several recording software packages available:
Tested

I hope that helps.
