Compact Flash (CF) speed important?
I am in the process of replacing the CF I use in my x50V.

My configuration is to use the CF to store my programs, SD to store all my music, books and other media. I do this because the SD is easier to remove than the CF.

So in purchasing a new CF, I have a choice of an 8gb CF with a slower speed, or a faster 2gb unit. My usage in the past has shown me that I can get by with 1gb, but if I can get more memory for the same money - I can move some of my stuff I used on SD to the CF.

Question I have is.... does CF speed matter to x50v or is the slowest CF still quite fast enough.. does the speed of the CF impact performance?

Whatever I find out will help me make a good decision on purchase. Your advice and experiences are welcomed!

The slowest CF card is quite good enough for the X50v. CF Card speeds are more important in cameras and in equipment where information is being written to the card constantly or every time you take a picture. Even first generation CF cards with none of the speed claims found on the current cards worked great even for playing movies and listening to music on my Axims.
