Travel Charger Tip Problem
A few years back I bought a Travel Charger tip that allowed me to use any 5 volt charger with my X50v. Today it's coming apart. The two parts that for the body of the tip have seperated. The tip still works but if there is any angle on the cord the two pieces come apart. Do you think it's safe just to super glue it back together? I thought about duct tape but I want it to look good not just work.

Its what I would do if I was unable to return the defective product.

I had the exact same problem with a charger tip that came with my Axim and I glued it back together. That was a year ago and it still works fine.

Make sure you use plenty of super glue, that way your Ax will always be at the tip of your fingers!!

Instead of glue, I taped mine together! It worked fine for a few years, then I got a brand new one.

This may sound silly, but you can find a hose-like material that shrinks with heat (like from a hairdryer).

Anyway, that could work, too. Engineers use this to strengthen the bond among a group of wires or connectors so that nothing jars loose.

I don't have a picture of an example, but the material is super-strong when reduced with hot air. It can be cut with an exacto knife in the future if it needs replacing.

I wish I had more, I'd hook you up with one for a buck!

Do they make heat shrink tubing that big? Well I'm sure they do, But I've only seen retail heat shrink tubing of a size to accommodate wires, not something as big as a charging tip.

If you go the heat shrink route, be careful you don't melt the plastic connector housing trying to shrink the tubing. I'd go with superglue. I use it all the time to glue plasticv housings back together.
