CF adapter for SD cards

Has anyone found a good adapter that allows an SD card to plug into the CF port? I see some on camera sites, and was wondering what the PDA folks are doing.

Next question: If in fact there is such a reliable gadget, is there any restriction on how large the SD card can be in the CF slot? I know there's really no limitation in the CF slot, but the SD is limited to 2G with certain exceptions.

Hope you're all having a great Monday!

With regular sd cards, there is a limit of 4gb, if you buy a non-sdhc card. On the x51v, there is a driver that allows you to use 4gb sdhc cards fully, and any sdhc card bigger than 4gb, will only show 4gb of space.

Some adapters have the ability of making sdhc cards work fully.
But, it is easier and cheaper to buy large capacity cf cards, up to 32gb, that work without the hassle of drivers.

There are a number of ebay vendors that sell the SD to CF adapter and they handle the SDHC cards - So they most likely handle upwards of 8 or 16GB SDHC cards and make them look like a CF type to the PDA. I priced these and found that a 8 or 16 GB CF card is cheaper than buying the adapter and the SDHC card separately. And there may be a speed hit as well.
besides, the CF slot is typically used for interface cards like GPS or USB.
Personally, I'll get a 16GB SDHC card and keep the CF slot available

If you do go with a cf card adapter, make sure that it can handle sdhc if you intend to use an sdhc card. While ebay has a large number of adapters, only about half of them can do sdhc (at least that was true when I was looking 6 months ago.) Some of them aren't labeled either way, so break out google and research them. :)
