Extra standard battery or extended battery?

I am debating getting an extra standard battery or an extended battery for my axim x51v. I use my pda mostly at school (pharmacy school) during class and I will probably use it quite a bit at rotations for school. I use it for primarily for drug programs among other casual things. I was wondering what you guys think. Is it going to be awkward to have a bulge at the bottom? Does it add that much thickness with say a leather case on it. Or do you think it would be better to just carry an extra battery on me at school. although i don't know if I want to worry about carrying an extra battery at rotations. However, I wouldn't blow through a battery at rotations only using drug programs and no wireless, like I do at class with wifi, internet, and games.

What do you guys think?

Extended battery is my choice to get longer life; had to buy case but extra size wasn't an issue as long as I have excellent battery life.

Extended battery needs a bigger battery cover. It makes the Axim look oversized. SO I would go with another standard battery.

I just ordered an extended battery (2200mah) from ebay.
Got it yesterday.. It's a Dell OEM battery WITH the new cover.
it was only $13.99 shipped USPS priority and got it in 3 days.
It even came in the stock dell packaging. He has about 40 left.
Works perfectly in the Ax.
Let me know if you want the contact info.

For $13.99 I would have gotten two and carried the extra one with me. I currently have 3 standard batteries (1100mah) and 1 extended battery (2200mah) to use with my X51V. The extended battery works great.

I had both at some point and it was not very different to use just the look of the device. Make sure that if you have a case, you will also get a little pouch to protect it when the extended battery is in used.

I have 3 2200 mah batteries. It's convenient because I almost never have to worry about bringing the charger with me or running out of power, especially when going out of town..It does increase bulk, but in your case you could conceivably just use one extended battery and make it through the entire day. I would think it'd just be easier to carry one extended battery and not worry about having multiple batteries to mess with. I have a PDAir extended magnesium case that I carry the AX in, it fits comfortably in my pocket. It's not slim, but I remember trying to cram an X5 with the Dell flip leather case into my pocket during the old class days.

I got several used ones for $5 each off an ebay seller in Texas theyve been working great for close to a year now..I carry the extra batteries around in a little case logic zip-up case that your belt goes through..

If you get the extended 2,200 mAh battery (which I strongly recommend) then I suggest you get a Sena case, because it is the only case which allows you to charge the Axim in its cradle without taking it out of the case. This saves a lot of hassle.

BTW Welcome to the site :approve:

I would like to see the site - plenty of suppliers, need to get the right one!

Also- have a standard Sena case - will ti fit, or do I need to get the larger case? Sena has them, but they show discontinued.

I am afraid that it will not fit in the standard Sena case, but cases.com/aximcases.com still list the extended battery Sena cases. :)

The 2200mah battery will fit in the original 51v slip in case/protecter.
I have bought mine in the past from this link:

PDA Batteries

They work great with great price and fast delivery.
