Battery Recommendation

Hi,

I am looking to get more battery power for my x51v. What size battery would you recommend? The standard size (1100 mah), extended (2200 mah), or mega (3600 mah). Would anyone happen to have pictures of how thick these are/dimensions/weight? Which brand of battery would you recommend? What do you think of buying a used battery? What is the best place to buy a battery?

Thanks in advance!

The Axim is a Pocket PC. If you carry your Axim around in your pocket (As I do), I suggest just getting the standard size. I also have two extended batteries I keep in my car for backup power. The mega is absolutely huge and in no way recommended.

If you have a case, the mega will not fit in most cases.

My recommendation:
Traveler: 1 standard + 1 extended
Average use: 2 standard
Heavy usage: 2 standard + 1 extended

As for the dimensions:
A rule of thumb for you-
The standard battery's depth is about the width of a HB2 pencil
The extended is about the width of two HB2 pencils (Obviously =P)

My extended batteries decided to disappear on me, so I cannot take a picture for you.

Brand- not the generic types. Not on Ebay.
Used/new- I usually get about 85% at full charge on a used battery (2-3 years). 100% on a brand new battery. Of course, used batteries are a lot cheaper.
Where to buy batteries- There is always the classified section (Just post a WTB- Want to Buy). Google is your friend.

I looked at the website and for some reason the 2200 mah is less than the 1100 mah. Are these batteries of varying quality?

bigtsr - thanks!

General question... if a battery for the axim (or I guess any hardware for that matter) is advertised as 'OEM' does that mean that it is the same as one originally sold by Dell?

Depends on what you define as "sold by Dell"

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) would be the same battery that came with your device.
Dell as sells the battery as a separate product. That would be retail.

It appears to me that shopokey is nothing more than a spammer. Post deleted and spammer banned from further participation in the forum.

Why is the 2200mAh $2 cheaper than 1100mAh?
These are some good prices, almost half off the 1100. The shipping is $8 though maybe I will buy one of each.

Sorry I deleted the URL, it won't let me post them until I have 15 posts, WTF, because of spammers I guess.
