not quite a newb

I just got an X50 recently and have some questions. I had an x51 a couple years ago so I am capable of some things.

1. I am looking for an adapter plug so that I can use my x50 with a vag-com cable and software. This is for volkswagens and audi diagnostics.

2. Alos looking for a cheap gps to use with this and any info on how this works. Never used gps so I am completly ignorant and need any info you can give me.

I'm sure I'll have more questions but these will get me started. Thanks!

Erich

Can't help with the cable, but this is a link to the GPS forum where you will find a lot of GPS information.

Would a VGA presentation cable work for your situation? Boxwave sells one for the Axims, I think.

According to Ross-TECH's website (the makers of VAG-COM software) this software is not for a Windows Mobile unit, it is for a standard PC (notebook, tablet, netbook, or desktop) with Microsoft Windows 98 or higher so I am not sure what cable you are looking for... See their FAQ page here: Ross-Tech: VAG-COM: FAQ Page 1 so I am not sure what cable you are looking for...

Depends what you want to the GPS for I guess. For a car navigator or some other application such as geocaching, then either a Bluetooth or CompactFlash GPS receiver works well for getting the information, but you also need the software of your choice to be able to actually but the GPSr to use. For more info I will refer you to the same place as JakeRich, http://www.mobilitysite.com/boards/gps-talk/ or GpsPasSion Forums both are excellent sources of information.
