Question about the Cases?
OK, so I'm just about ready to order my new Axim X50v but I still have one question - what is the difference between the cases?
There is the Executive case for $25, the Mini Portfolio case for $34, the Portfolio case for $39 and the Cordovan case for $25. Does anyone have any idea what each of these cases look like? Also, does the X50v come with a case like the X5 did? :rolling:
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

I believe the X50 comes with a slip case. They are usually a temporary solution and are kinda impractical.
I think the executive will be like : http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...&page=external
And the Cordovan like : http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...&page=external
I got the cordovan for now

I'd go for a RhinoSkin, personally. I need the most protection out there since Dell doesn't allow me to buy Complete Care here in NYC.

I've got a Rhino for my X30. I wouldn't consider anything else for my X50v.

^^^ Ditto. And, again, with the denial of Complete Care, a RhinoSkin is a prerequisite.

Does the Rhino have places to store SD cards?
Is there a flip case? That's what I really want.
I'm so excited!!!!

Yes, the Rhino can hold extra cards. The one for the X30 can hold two.

^^^ Correct. There are two SD card slot on the inside door of the RhinoSkin for the X3/30. Details on the X50 version of the RhinoSkin has not been released yet, to my knowledge, but there's no reason to believe that it wouldn't have slots for spare SD cards... and maybe, if we cross our fingers, a slot for CF cards too. *crossing fingers* :)

I ask because the Rhinoskin for my X5 does not have slots for cards.

Yeah, I saw that. Luckily, Sauders thought to fix their "oversight" and included 2 SD slots in the X3/30 version of the RhinoSkin. :approve:

That's interesting because the Rhino Titanium case for my X5 has 2 slots for SD cards. Perhaps your's is the Aluminium model?

Slots for CF cards as well as SD cards would be choice. I ended up getting the cordovan. I'll think about the Rhino once I see what it actually looks like.

Probably. I won it, so I just accepted what was given. I like it, but I switch between it and my flip case.

I have a flip case for my Axim X5 and really like it but I don't think there was one offered with the X50 at Dell so I finally decided to not buy any of them. Instead I will wait to see what my new X50 is like and then just buy one from one of the advertisers here at Aximsite. Maybe by November when it's due to be shipped, they will have some nice leather flip cases ready for it!

Ask, and ye shall receive:
Rhinoskin on www.saunders-usa.com
ALSO:
In another post...
no CF card slots (no surprise, here, as those are much thicker, relatively speaking), but room for TWO SD cards! I have a hardcase for my iPaq 2215, and it provides GREAT protection. Only issue I have, is that the belt clip is not the sturdiest around...I got hug-tackled by my 6 year old neice, landed on the case, on top of her, and the clip broke in two!
(but the iPaq is still fine...well, as fine as non-upgradeable iPaq's can be. :realmad: thanx, HP...)
Hope this helps!
Chris, aka rhino-breaker
