And the provided case (slip case) is a nice case.
Are the battery extenders being sold for X30s also compatible with the X50 series?

Unfortunately I don't think it's compatible, as the new Axim X50 and X50v have new connectors, and thus won't work with the battery extenders or other accessories such as keyboards that were designed for the X30s

Here's a Battery Extender that is specifically for the v50x: (Battery Extender Charger Dell Axim x50 x50v)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=5742260014
It seems like a pretty good deal. I think I'll get one for my x50v and another that has the right connection for my wife's T3. (Her Palm REALLY needs the help!)

High Bidder
I am the current High Bidder on that link I posted yesterday, so "don't y'all jump in there and outbid me! Ya' hear?"
I should have waited to post that link until AFTER the auction closed!

So can the battery extender use ANY AA battery or does it have to be a certain kind?

I've ordered one, and if no-one else answers, when mine comes I'll post what I find in the paperwork.

The Battery Extender arrived today and is quite nice. If you leave the PDA off, and turn on the BE, it recharges the PDA. If you turn on the PDA, it provides power, but does not recharge.
There is no information sheet with the BE, however, there is a note on the box. It says: "For use with Rechargeable batteries". So I installed four rechargeable AA NiMh batteries. The BE does it's job and works great in either mode.
I bought one for my x50v and another one for my wife's T3. They both get my approval. I'm taking this BE with me on my next business trip and leaving my wall charger and cradle at home. Yehaw!

What connector does it use to connect to the PDA? USB, Dell serial, or use the Dell provided power to serial adapter?
Thanks!

I'm trying to get a straight answer from Dell now, and it appears that none of their cases (Belkin or Rhino) will handle the x50v with the 2200mah battery attached. For now will likely return the battery and the Belkin leather case a sales person "checked" after I specifically asked about and assured me it would adjust for either battery.
