really sd is just smaller, if you get a high speed cf card, cf is faster, but some sd cards are also faster than some cf cards
if you have another device that uses either a cf card or sd card, i would get the one that works with your other device, but besides that, it is your choice on price and size mainly ![]()

I actually use both. I just wait until I see good deals. Currently, I am using a 1 GB SD card and a 2 GB CF card. As for speed, it depends on the card you order and the size. The larger the card, usually the lower the speed, since it has more information to look through (especially on a reset).

Are there any size limitations on SD Cards? Someone claims that their KingMax 1GB SD card does not work as the Axim X5 only accepts up to a 512MB SD card. Any truth to this??

I really can't say on that one. I didn't have anything bigger than a 512 mb when I had my Axim.

I Use A Kingmax 1 Gb Sd 60x In My Axim X5 And It Is The Fastest Card I Have Owned. I've Had It For About 1.5 Months. I Have About 5 Other Sd Cards In Smaller Size And None Seem To Perform As Well As The Kingmax. From What I've Heard I Think 1 Gb Is The Max For The X5.

I "think" the microdrive is actually slower because you have to wait for it to boot up. Not to mention that they are pretty fragile.

For those of you who live near a Fry's electronics, they have a PQI 1GB SD card for $50 after rebate. In store price is $70 plus $20 rebate.
If you can suffer through the terrible customer service at Fry's [in Fountain Valley, CA, they FORCE you to talk to a sales person so that they can print up an order for you]...then this is a great deal!

if the CF is in the Axim but you're not actually using something from it, will it still drain power?
