It's good someone is onboard making them. I'm going to wait for the Boxwave screen protectors. Hopefully they come out before my ship date.

I've been using the Martin Fields Overlay Plus (www.overlayplus.com) on my Axim X30 and it's really nice. Of course, I like the clear overlays, not the "anti-glare" ones that make the display fuzzy and less colorful. If I get glare, I move my PDA 2 degrees. Small price to pay for a view that looks like the original screen.

Anyway, I've emailed them to see how long before they have an X50 overlay; they don't yet have the X50 in Asia, but they figure as soon as they get their hands on one (ETA late November) they'll have one out in a few days.

I've tried a number of different brands of screen protectors and like the WriteShields the best. You can remove, clean, and reapply them. They are making a special formulation for the VGA screens. The one I have on my X5 has never been replaced and still looks brand new.

Here's an review of screen protectors, but it's from last year and won't have the newest versions rated:

I've used a Boxwave Cleartouch (standard) on my X30 and really like it.
Does anyone have any experience with the Cleartouch Crystal and why it might be better or worse on the X50v?
Would the fact it's clear be better for a VGA screen than the standard one that is anti-glare?
Thanks for any input.

They have 2 types available - the C2 and the AG. See the link I provided before for the differences in the 2 types.

There is no "special formulation for VGA screens". However, there are some clear type protectors. Both Boxwave and PPCTechs make them, among others.

I love WriteShield. The best in the market.

Had anyone successfully placed an order? I wanted to get one immediately but the shopping cart kept showing empty. I had left message and emailed PPCTechs.

I emailed Boxwave the day I ordered my axim and got a response back saying they would email me when they were available.
They know there will be a demand for them.

They are working on it. I asked them the same thing and they requested I get a high res photo with a ruler shown in both directions so they could manufacture exactly the correct size. I think Chris sent them such a photo, so hopefully it'll be out soon.

Before everyone starts with me on this issue: Yes, the dimensions are available on Dell's site and yes, Boxwave could have gotten that information. However, a screen protector has to be EXACTLY the right size, yet have room to allow it to be removed. Without having an X50v in hand, I agree with them its a good idea to have a precise measurement to go by.

I emailed Brando to see where they were with production. They are waiting for Dell to provide info. They did say that if they could get screen measurements (height x width in mm) they would see what they could do. Does anyone who has got one yet want to offer the information? It might help speed up availability.
