Serial Cable vs CF card
Anyone know of a current or planned serial cable for the X50 connecting to the sync port? I know they make them for the X5 and X30, primarily for use with GPS devices. Any other options?

Currently I know of 3 possible options. One is a CF adapter with serial cable. The second is a USB host CF adapter and plugging in a USB to serial adapter I already have. This one has both power and driver availability issues. The third option is from Socket. They sell a small bluetooth to serial adapter for $169.
The first two options sell for $100-150 and use the CF Slot, not my preferred method. Hopefully a sync port to serial cable would also cost less.

The intended use is for managing network switches and routers via the console port without having to lug around a laptop.

Thanks

I believe the X50 dose not have USB host which is a bit of a bummer. I too was hoping to use my X50V (when it finally gets here) to manage switches and routers rather than the bulky laptop, im hoping a serial cable will be available in the future.

If you find any info on availablilty of serial cables please post up here

Bumping this back to the top to see if anybody knows of a serial cable for the X50 in the mean time. I'm looking to connect the X50 to my Garmin eTrex GPS. There is a very nice cable for the X30 at thesupplynet.com, but not the X50 at this time.
