If your funds are enough to buy a X50v, then the extra 10 bucks for a screen protector would be peanuts, wouldn't it? Do use a screen protector...

The 15% discount has actually expired, but you will receive 10% off with the code.

Thanks Leonard! Sounds good to me! Can't wait to get it; my X50v arrives on Thursday and hopefully my c2 won't be far behind.

I have used both Boxwave and Writeshield (Nushield too). I decided to go with the Writeshield anti-glare. Has anyone used them? Are they better in any way than the regular Writeshields?

There are two kinds of Writeshields: the anti-glare (AG) and clear type C2). The AG was just released today for the X50v, so nobody's got it yet. I just got my C2 in the mail a few minutes ago. Once I get it installed, I'll post my impressions.

Having said that, I HAVE used the regular Writeshields before and liked them a lot. I preferred the Boxwave slightly, but would recommend Writeshield. Plus, Leonard is SO nice to deal with, I try to give them business whenever I can!

Which one is cheaper? Writeshields or Boxwave?

That's a loaded question. The Boxwave protector comes by itself. No accessories.

Our WriteSHIELDs come with a complete kit to give you everything needed to install AND maintain the quality of the WriteSHIELD.
Our instructions are much more detailed, etc.

The Double Pack kit contains two WriteSHIELD™ screen protectors, two Klear Screen Wet Single packs, 3.25" horse-hair brush, three applicator/removal picks, Optical quality MicroFiber cloth and fully illustrated instructions.

Is anti-glare a must for anyone using their Axim as a GPS in the car?

Boxwave is a little cheaper and comes with everything you need to install it. WS comes with a more complete package and is truly only a couple dollars more. Read the reviews and talk to people who have them. Don't go by price: its negligible.

Truly, you can't go wrong with either. The differences are negligible. I just bought a C2 for my X50v and love it so far. I haven't had it out in the sunshine yet, but I would expect it would have as much glare as it would without a protector on it. I likw dealing with the PPCTechs company. They have a wonderful reputation and I like giving them business. On the other hand, I've never had any problem with the Boxwave folks either!

I'm not familiar with the AG model.

I owned a standard Boxwave protector for my last PPC and loved it.

I've never owned a PDA before. Is the glare from the sun really that bad if I'm going to use it as a GPS in the car?

It sure could be, but its hard to say for sure. Depends on how high up on the dashboard you have it. I would say that if it sits on top, you'll have a big problem. I'd go with anti-glare.

But I'm not speaking from GPS experience...

It depends on the angle of the mount, where it's located, etc.

A WriteSHIELD AG (Anti-Glare) will definitely help. I use one on my XDA III that I use in the car with an Arkon GPS mount.
