Just received the vga output cable. It has a flimsy /simple instruction of using Westtek clearVue with dell axim x50v.

So here it is, Installing...(not so interesting stuff)

Interesting stuff = Enabling Mirror mode with windows media player

To playvideo with windows media player 10 on both PDA and an external monitor, enable mirror mode before playing the movie.!

There you have it... its able to output video too! Up to resolution of 1024X768

Hope that helps

Very cool! Thanks for the report!

I have a question though. Does mirror mode support both landscape and portrait mode? In other words, if I'm in portrait does it show on the monitor "right-side up". And when I'm in landscape mode, does it still show on the monitor "right-side up"? Thanks.

Yep, its just a small little dongle cable. And also includes Visttek's clearVue software... that I assume handles the vga output signals.

However I am sure there will be some generic brand that will be selling for like 20 bucks in like couple of months. :)

Thanks!

I am able to get only 640x480 resolution on the external monitor when i use mirror mode.
Only with the clearvue software (using their 2700g driver) i can get 1024x768.

is there a way to get 1024x768 in mirror mode? I want to have that resolution on the external monitor for everything. Not just the clearvue programs.
