Got the Targus IR keyboard and X50v working! - Page 2

Hi there I had the same problem wit the Targus. first make sure you have only one Targus Keyboard in the program list, I had put by accident 3 two with the new downloaded drivers and one with the mini cd disk. You might have to do a (God Forgive for swearing)...A Hard reset because it just wont go with the software removal program. Then download the new driver:
http://www.targus.com/us/Downloads/IRKeybd_v1_33.exe and install it. Once I removed the extra keyboard icons it did work fine....BTW to use it in landscape, place it with the top to the right and move the IR transmitter at an angle, note where the little tiny IR port is its kinda off center. So the only way to obtain a copy of this ZeNoKeyboard software is to enter your information and have the guy e-mail you a copy?

Ive been looking throught the threads and have noticed that some people have had the same kind of problem with the previous drivers. Targus is now up to a version 1.36. and
I have an x50v which has the latest targus version on it. Anyone find a solution for this. Other than that it seems to work great. Thanks

I've loaded (and unloaded) almost every Targus driver (for the universal IR keyboard) I could get my hands on, with no good results. I finally got the latest drivers (v1.30 and up to v1.36) working by installing straight after a hard reset; unfortunatly I had to reload most things from scratch after that.

But still, its working.
Shame the mouse doesn't, anyone found a fix for that yet? I've been all over the forum, no seems to have the answer.

Any cure for the invisible mouse yet? I got used to the mouse on my X5 and really miss it on my X50v.

Does this driver works with other generic IR keyboards?
I recently bought one used and I can't get it to work. In the CD there weren't any driver for WM2003SE which is the OS I have. Could this mean that the keyboard doesn't support it?

I've been having some trouble getting my old Targus keyboard working with my new Axim X51v. I've tried the solution you've come up with on this thread for the X50v, but it doesn't seem to work for the X51v. If any of you have gotten the Targus keyboard to work with the X51v, or have any other suggestions on how I could get it to work, please let me know. I'll be watching this thread closely.

What exactly are you experiencing? I got it to work on my X50v w/ WM5. It was tricky though, had to unzip drivers and manually move the cab file over to the pda. Drivers are pretty buggy though and ghey mouse doesnt work. Well let know what is going on, ill get it working for you.

I manually moved the drivers across to my x51v and it still has the same issue:

When i click enabled in the IR Keyboard settings it says another process is using the IR Port. YET I HAVE UNCHECKED Receive all incoming beams.

Do you know how to solve this?

Do you have other programs running?Try a soft reset I guess, sorry im stumped

Have exactly the same problem. Cannot enable the driver :(
I cannot find any running programs in the memory, beam "Receive all incoming beams." property is unchecked :(
Driver is the latest one 1.39

Anyone solved this?
