Does the HP bluetooth keyboard FA287A work with the X50v?
I'm in California still waiting for my X50v to get out of production. I'm interested in getting a bluetooth keyboard for my X50v. I looked at the ThinkOutside/Dell one, but I'd really rather have a fifth row of number keys. The HP bluetooth keyboard has the fifth row.
Has anyone tried the new HP bluetooth keyboard (part # FA287A) with the Axim X50v? Or has anyone tried it with anything other than an iPAQ? Thanks in advance.

I am still interested to find out if anyone is using the HP bluetooth keyboard with their X50v. Will it work with the built-in bluetooth stack? Or do I need to install the upgraded Widcomm stack that is posted elsewhere on this forum?

The HP Bluetooth keyboard installed easily on my Axim X50v.
You will need to download & install the lastest driver from HP onto the Axim. The driver installation creates a program that you'll need to use to recognize the keyboard (the Axim's Bluetooth pairing wizard won't recognize the keyboard). Also, you'll need to enter "0000" when prompted to authenticate the keyboard. Hope this helps.Anyone have suggestions on a Bluetooth mouse to go with the Axim X50v?

I'm wondering about the mouse also. I just bought the HP keyboard today and I like it better than JavoEdge (the keys are bigger)and Think Outside (TO doesn't have a number row). It also connected easier than either one of those keyboards.
I like the way the TO keyboard opens, feels & looks, but for the number row, I'll switch. Mona13

I have both the Think Outside Bluetooth Keyboard and the THink Outside Bleutooth Mouse. They work extremely well on their own or together. I understand your concern for a dedicated number key row, which was the main complaint that kept me from getting a TO BT keybord to begin with. There is a "learning curve" invloved and initially, if you type numbers, you won't be able to do so without looking at the keyboard. I'm still getting adjusted to mine. I'm actually typing this post on both my TO keyboard and mouse. ![]() As for the Think Outside Bluetooth Mouse, it is AMAZING! I highly recommend it. It works flawlessly with my Axim and makes input that much easier. I don't have to wear down my screen and screen protector tapping the darn screen all the time. The mouse is incredibly small and lightweight. It's about half the size of a normal mouse and glows red at the bottom to let you know it's status. With my bluetooth keyboard and mouse I literally have an ultra-portable laptop replacement. It's great. You should look into the Think Outside Bluetooth Travel Mouse and get it if you can. It's really worth the $47. ![]()
