Are you happy with BT keyboard?

I have a few questions, are you happy with the Stowaway BT keyboard and was it difficult to install the drivers? Any problems? Please tell me that the Bluetooth is easier to get up and running than the WI-Fi (that took six hours)

Will the Axim X50 fit in the keyboards cradle with the extended battery?

Thanks so much, Richard Olson

I had no probs installing the bt keyboard

I downloaded the drivers from the Think Outside website, installed them on my Axim and it worked immediately.

I must have a bad blutooth or an application that is causing a conflict because I can not say the same. I have also seen several people on here with the same issue so I know it is not isolated to me.

After a few tries I got my BT Thinkoutside keyboard to work. I thought it was broken, but kept fiddling with it and now it works fine. (Only used it for a short time tho.)

It will take a bit of getting used to because it is so darn small and light. I am a big guy and kind of hammer on my keyboard. This thing wiggles around if you hammer your fingers on it. Gentle touch typing should be fine.

Oh yeah, once I made the two devices "partners" with a secure connection the hookup went much faster.

I like my BT Thinkoutside, but the inactivity period needs to be longer or when you close the keyboard.

Draxious - When you were fiddling and it was not working what was the problem that you were having? I was wondering if it was similar to mine so that I could tell if there is hope of getting it to work.

Well, the keyboard works great. I didn't need additional drivers.....unless that's the real problem. Now my WIFI won't work. It was working great. HELP!!!!

I like the BT keyboard very much. If you are having challenges with the Dell Driver, go to Think Outisde for the latest version (4.1). It also supports the bluetooth mouse...which is wonderful btw. I highly recommend checking it out.

:rolling: Well, it was working.

The way I got it to work initially was to follow the instructions in the book over and over until it connected. The unsecure connection was easy, the secure one was lots harder. The flashing green light would turn off while I was trying to enter the code for secure connection. Then I had to start over.

When I read the notes above and discovered that there was new software available, I just couldn't resist. I downloaded and installed it. Now I can just get a non-paired connection. Have not been able to make a paired connect again. Oh well, at least I know that both devices send and receive signals. Such is progress sometimes. Shoulda left it alone while it was working.

Good luck!

Can you tell me where you found the passkey? I checked their website and didn't find it (only reference to enter passkey :rolling: )

NM, found it or... at least I found one for pc's! "Please note: If you have chosen to use a passkey for a secure encrypted connection the passkey is defined as any numerical passkey. Once you have entered the passkey from your PC, you will be prompted to enter the same passkey from the keyboard. For example passkey "1234" would be entered on the keyboard as Left Fn 1234 (Left Fn QWER)."

-----------------

I thought there was a specific one... lol, I'm wondering if IR would be better for me, bluetooth just seems beyond me at this point :)
-------------

that didn't help either, bleh. Now I'm back to bluetooth trying to find out about stacks... since the installer is saying it cannot find it on the axim, maybe I'm just missing something
