I understand that earlier Dell Axims had problems with the serial cable accessory. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if a serial cable is in the works for the X50 model and if it will function correctly. Apparently the SEL line on the Axim (X5) side had to be pulled to ground to signal the Axim to supply power. This was an issue with GPS devices because they only used transmit and receive lines. Apparently the Axim would never know to power up the serial cable adaptor. Are we heading down the same road with the X50? I don’t want to waste my time with a serial cable that will not work properly with a GPS/Serial device. Other options exist like a CF serial adaptor or a Bluetooth serial adaptor but they are generally more expensive. Anyone got a direct line to a X50 engineer?
