That looks very cool. There is also this Compact Flash Host USB Card that's been out for a while (haven't tried it though).

The catch with these things are the drivers. If a PPC driver hasn't been written for the hardware you want to connect, then you're out of luck.

Did not see any price info. Is it one of those where if you have to ask how much it is than you should not plan to buy one?

Twin-Paradox Compact Flash USB Host
The problem is, when will it be available? I have been following this product for over a year. At first, the release was month to month, then by quarter. It now says Q4 2004, but that's almost over too!

i cant really see that thing being useful
sure it would be great if you could plug just any old usb device into your ppc but it isnt as simple as that unfortunately, it has to have some sort of driver

The estimated price for the Twin-Paradox vaporware dual USB host card is $70. I would probably buy one for that price, not the $150+ for a Ratocc card. Too bad it seems that this product will never see the light of day.

Most standard HID devices, such as mice, keyboards, and hard/thumb drives, will work with the HID drivers built into the device. The problem comes in with non-HID devices (printers, some drives), and HID devices without Windows Mobile drivers (gampads).

Tom61, I agree 100%. $70 is somewhat reasonable. $150 is ridiculous - that is more than 50% of the cost of my X30!

it actually is useful, many disk drives and input devices like keyboards dont need drivers with it so it can be a great way to add a hard drive or keyboard, but for me, that is alot of money
