I want to buy a SD memory card, 512MB.

I've read lots of reviews and everyone seems to like the Kingmax 1gb SD. Please note this is differen't from Kingstone. It's 60x which is about as fast as it it gets. I own it and have had no problems. Also has a 5-year warranty, which means they must really believe in their product.

Yes, the Lexar 80x CF card you mention is plenty fast for what you are wanting to do. I have been considering the same one myself.

As far as the best place to get a flash card reader, you can find pretty good deals all over the net. Take a look at the online vendor you are considering buying the Cf card from. Buying them both from the same site may save you some shipping costs.

I was at a Fry's in Texas and picked up this one
http://shop4.outpost.com/product/4115823

I use BeyondTV to record The Daily Show. It then 'showqueeze's it down to 320x240 @ 368kbps .WMV (30 minutes ~ 90MB). I stick it into my PC using a Lexar JumpDrive Trio, copy the files down and then watch it on the plane using the x50v. Smooth video and looks good.

high speed cards are not necessary as the axim x50v doesn't use their speed... only in cardreaders they are useful!
