best CF camera?
wich one of the available CF (or maybe even SD) cameras takes the best quality photos? Apart from that, wich ones have the best/strongest built-in flashes?

Let's see... The word BEST.

http://www.steves-digicams.com/2003_.../d2h_pg10.html

Nikon D2-H uses compact flash

Personally, I prefer AA batteries, reasonably cheap (less theft worry), flexible screen (you can hold above your head) and CF.

I purchased a Canon A95 from dell. Don't get the A85/A75, they have a smaller sensor...the A95 is a different class (it replaces the A80). Nice bang for buck, wait for a dell $35 off $320 coupon plus 10% off on Canon...

According to the developer of the best software to run a CF camera, CECam, the 1.3Mp FlyCam with flash delivers 8 hardware-controlled exposure modes, and the best clarity and colour saturation. I've used Casio's (pretty nice; wish I still had it and a working Casio CF slot), HP's (still use it almost daily, with mmVision's software), and the Pretec 1.3Mp model. The Pretec was a sick joke, and then it died.

I believe he is looking for a CF camera, not a camera that uses CF for storage.

it does to an extent. The program works, but at least on mine, it cuts off the lower portion of the screen, and leavs it blank. You can still press the buttons to take a picture, but you have to know where they are.

Anybody try this Pretec 1.3 SD "LED" flash camera? Have a look at the User's Guide.... Looks nice!

btw, it has a driver for PPC'03, (despite not listing X50 as a compatable camera).

Regards,
Rand

Pretec PPC cameras = garbage

Pretec's software for them = smellier garbage.

Oh sure, they've fixed everything with this model...

If you'd like, check some of my thoughts and experiences with Pretec in this review.

Does anyone know if these will allow you to record the photos/clips directly to an SD card instead of the PDA itself?
