Powering BT GPS & Axim X50v in Car
Hello..

I've been reading the forum posts to help me decide on a BT GPS receiver for my Axim X50v, and just have one question - I notice that some (Dell GPS, Belkin) receivers come with cables so that you can power both the receiver and the PDA simultaneously. I guess I'm just not clear on how this is done, and if any other receivers have this ability. I was thinking of purchasing AVL BT-15 receiver, but I want to ensure I can power both devices. Any info appreciated..

Based on the specs of the receiver, you should be able to do that. Make sure you get a 5v car adapter that can put out at least 850mA. You will need some sort of "Y" adapter to use to run one end to the Axim, the other to the GPS unit. I saw the unit at buygpsnow.com, you might ask them if they have a "Y" power cable that would work.

This is a shop in Sweden with everything for the car.
Micro

in the menu to the left, choose Bilel och ljus and then Tillbehor 12v
there at the top you see what I think you want.

You should find something similar in your country too.

Simpler solution is to goto radio shack and pick up a cigarette lighter splitter..

Hi

Seidio (www.seidionline.com) will release a car kit shortly which can hold and charge your Dell X50. It has a DCout port which you can use to charge your bluetooth receiver with an optional cable. It also has a builtin amplified speaker to allow you to hear the GPS commands loud and clear. It is also model specific.
