Alex,

Mugen Power is working on an extended model for the X50. Their first version will not be anything near 3800mAh. It looks like it may be closer to 2200mAh but they have not yet confirmed the capacity.

Also, it was suppose to be released by mid-December and then before Christmas. Well, Christmas is 1-week away and they still haven't released it. I'm in contact with Mugen Power daily and will let everyone know as soon as it is available to order.

From what I can tell through Mugen Power, the battery will be the exact physical size of Dell's Extended Capacity battery. I cannot be certain yet if it will be a higher capacity to Dell's 2200mAh battery. They haven't been able to tell me. As soon as I know, I'll pass the information along.

Ugh! Then what's the point? So they aren't planning on making a battery the same size as the 1100 with more capacity?

From what I can tell, they are concentrating on the 2200mAh battery (or better) first. They will then follow the 1100mAh battery with their version (more power I hope also). BUt, they haven't confirmed the capacites yet. Like you I am anxiously waiting. They really need to advise us soon or they (and by extension "we") will lose business.

Manfred, are you listening????

I agree totally. We want one so that you can use the cases now available. If I wanted a extended battery that is bigger than the original I would have ordered the one from Dell.

But, Burntfingers, keep in mind that if Mugen can create a bigger battery based on the 1100mAh footprint, it will NOT be 2200mAh. It may be 1300mAh or 1350mAh but it could never reach 2200mAh unless they place a small nuclear reactor in it. They have only soooo much room to work with. They might be able to increase the size a millimeter or so, but could never fit 2200mAh into the 1100mAh size. It's just no possible with Lithium Ion batteries.

Let's hear for an Atomic Battery!
