3-in1 retractable usb travel kit
Hi, I am a new Axim x50v user. I am looking for a retractable, 3-in-1 travel kit. Able to USB sync, has wall power adapter, and car power adapter. I bought one thinking it was the right one, but once I received it I realized it was for the Axim x5. Does anyone know of a site or store that sells what I am looking for? Thanks.

Andrew

I recommend the BoxWave MiniSync & VersaCharger if availible for the X50. Does everything you've listed, & is extremely compact to boot.

Be warned - per Seidio, the retractable sync cable will NOT charge your Ax while it is connected to the PC. Boxwave Minisync does but I don't believe it will be available til next month

do you need any other cables with the seido travel kit?

Let me see if I have this right.

You plug the cigarrete charge into the cigarrete holder, then you blug the retractable sync into the other end of the cigarrete charger and then plug the sync into your pda. And thats all you need for it to charge.

That is not true Cheryl. It does charge the x50 while conneted USB. Here is the description right from the Seidio site.

Compact, stylish, designed to fit inThe Retractable Sync & Charge USB Cable for Dell X50 is perfect for traveling. It simultaneously syncs and charges your Dell X50 without having to carry the cradle.

That's what I thought, too. I posted about the backlight of my X50V not being on while it was attached to my laptop via the retractable cable. One of the Seidio reps (sorry, can't find the original Seidio discount thread) said that the cable was not meant to charge the unit when it was connected to the computer, but to a usb hub or other power source. I guess one of us is confused. I did not check to see if the battery was charging - I only made the comment about the backlight not being on and that was the response that I received.

When it is charging through usb you will not see the power light. USB does not carry enough power to light the lcd, but it is charging. Did you go to the link I provided to the page it is on? If it does not work this way, then they are falsely advertizing it.

* 2 ft. length for portability when expanded.

* Rolls up to reduce cable clutter (only about 4 inches).

* No additional AC power required; uses power from your computer's usb port.

* To initiate HotSync button, launch the HotSync application on your Dell X50.

* Can be used as a car charger or wall charger with Seidio's USB car adapter or USB travel adapter (sold separately).

It says it does, but I think I am going to have to contact Seidio. I just got mine Friday, and just now used it. Instead of charging, it just sucked power.

Guess I'd better take a closer look at mine

No, only the direct synch. He needs to learn to specify.
