Use while charging with AC adapter?
Hi all,

I've searched the forums here, but I haven't been able to figure out if it's possible to run the X50 while plugged into an AC outlet. I found a thread that says you can do it with the X30s, but I know the X50 draws more power, and you can't use it while it's charging on it's cradle.

The main thing I want to do is use it in my car. I know some of the car chargers for the X50 will work, but unfortunately the cigarette lighter in my car is in an awkward place, and none of them will fit. I've got a power inverter that will fit, but I haven't been able to find a definite answer as to which (if any) AC charging solutions will allow you to use the Axim while it's plugged in/charging. It may be as simple as getting the $10 adapter from Dell that lets you plug the Axim directly into the AC adapter - has anyone tried to do this while using an X50/X50v?

Thanks for your help!

I bought that adapter and use it all the time with the AC power supply. It powers and charges as I surf in the comfort of my recliner. I also have a power inverter in my car, but have not used it w/ my X50 yet.

with the X50 series, it comes with an adapter that makes it so you can directly plug the AC Adapter into the bottom of the Axim. It can be run while hooked up like this also

Who said you can't use it while charging in the cradle? You most certainly can. I do it all the time.
