Okay, I have showed off the x50v as much as I possibly can at work, but now the new challenge comes. The Car.

The G2500 would be the perfect thing to put my x50v into while driving especially for the passenger to tilt towards them to watch musci videos or simpsons. I would also have a smal FM transmitter so they would get bigger overall sound. What especially interests me is the cradle's ability to tilt 90 degrees. I love this feature the most. As well it has so many different mounting options.

The question is, since GPS isn't my thing, and the price tag is steep on this G2500, is there anything like it to suit my needs? I wish they just sold this thing without any GPS stuff at all. It would be perfect.

Any ideas, suggestions, or makeshift ways would be appreciated. Remember the most iportant thing is the 90 degree tilting, but even if that option is absent, something comparable I would buy in a heartbeat.

I know of three major vendors of mounts (plus lots of lesser players). Seidio makes the intgrated mount that has the bottom plug to fit the socket of the X50. They are the only ones to go that way. Arkon has a unit that holds the X50 with side-gripping fingers and a cable to connect to the bottom of the unit. You can also get a non-powered unit that doesn't have the additional speaker, and I think it can swivel 90 degrees as well. Finally, a company called RAM used to make mounts, really ruggedized ones. I haven't heard much buzz here about them, but their website is www.ram-mount.com. I don't know if they swivel 90 degrees or not.
