Altec Lansing probably is promoting the more expensive iPod version (the audio out is built-in in to the cradle). This is an universal model w/ normal 3.5 mm input jack (headphone output).

sweet. got the bargain shipping for free. I am stoked. I returned 2 sony portable speaker units that SUCKED A** and were worse sounding than the 1 speaker on my X5. Thanks for the tip, now I get another gift after Christmas. Happy Holidays.
