Seidio G2500 ordered
Hi All,
I'm new to the group. This group is a fantastic resource! The G2500 should be here tomorrow. I'll report back how well(or not) it works. I have been following the threads on the car chargers and I have had the same issues that others describe like not enough power to run and charge at the same time. Actually its continues to drain the battery if I try to run it in the car with the back light on. I hope the G2500 has a more robust power supply.

Hi All,
Just a quick bit of feedback on the G2500. I have used it a couple of times now and it seems to work great! It is able to operate the screen at full brightness and charge the battery at the same time. No flickering at all. Sound comes thru clear and strong. I am using it with a Belkin BT GPS and Mapopolis. Now...how to manage all the power cords...ordered a hard wire for the G2500 and their GPS charge cord. More too come.....

Hi Dean,

Sorry to hear about the car charger problem. We are very confident about our G2500 charging as well as the car charger charging.

Please send me your order #, I will send you a new car charger tomorrow.

Please send the defective unit back so we can evauate the unit and find out what happened.

Sorry for the problem again. I am glad you like G2500 for X50. We want you to be happy with the car charger too.

David,
I did'nt mean to imply that the car charger was a Seidio product. I bought it from another company. I have no issues with your companies products. My G2500 is great!
Thanks

My Seidio 2500 came today. Had it installed in my car in about 3 minutes. Seems to stick to the windshield very nicely. Also had no problems charging my X50v while it was on. I didn't get a seperate charging cord for my iTrek GPS since it gets over 20 hours on one charge.

Cupholder Mount?
I'm very interested in the 2500 but I'm looking for a cupholder mount rather than a windshield suction cup. It looks like that is the only way it is offered. Can you confirm? If so do you think it can be modified to work with a cupholder from another vendor?

I know akron has cupholder units but I like the idea of an integrated (has matched power connector) like the Seidio unit.

A few minor nitpicks on my unit:

* The speaker on my unit is very susceptible to noise, without the car running. Plus having to insert/remove the audio cable from the headphone jack.
* The cigarette jack on my car is hooked up directly to the battery, an on/off button or perhaps some smarts to automatically turn itself off if there's no PDA docked. My main worry is if I forget to unplug the car adapter plus I hate having to insert/remove it constantly.
* The air vent holder wouldn't fit in the center console air vents on my honda civic 2004. They do fit on the side vents, which is where I wanted it anyways. The locking/unlocking of the hooks is very hard to do, I'm still trying to unhook them to adjust it a bit.

The unit does fit nice and snug, but hopefully a Sena case can used without removing the case.

Hi

Our cradle can work with Arkon cup holder without any modification. Use Cupholder, then attach the cradle to the cupholder.

If there is a problem, please let me know

I would love to find a car mount that would fit the x50v and its case (like the senacase).

It would be great that Seidio provides a mounting kit for the x50v a little larger with an extra plastic or rubber part that could be removed if a case is used... Or just create one with the same shape that the USB dock at the bottom. Just me two cents...
