Mugen battery soon available!
The Mugen extended 2200 mAh battery (through Lion Battery) is at least shown on their website now, but the price is really up there ($62.95). It is not clear whether it will fit the compartment and be flush with the back, or extend out from the back.

Check it out

Since it comes with a new cover for back of PDA, it clearly will not lead to a flush back. Hard to tell if smaller than the dell, though hard to believe it could be much smaller with the same capacity. Neal

that's a picture of the Dell battery not the Lion one. It says "for illustration purposes only"

That's also the same capacity as the extended Dell battery.

That is odd that it is the same mAh. I am wondering if they just have that mAh because they aren't sure exactly what it will actually be.

I would hope that is the case considering that there is not really a point if it is the exact same size and the exact same capacity. I'm just going to see what they can do with the smaller battery (I've decided I really like my rhino skin).

I was really hoping for a higher capacity battery that is the same size as the 1100...

Damn it. If I knew for sure that it would be flush on the back, I'd pre-order. This is the ONLY thing I'm waiting on to purchase for my Axim, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

If it's the same size as the Dell 2200 one, forget it! I'll stick with the stock battery!

I'm all about battery life and so I bought the 2200MAH battery and the extra size doesn't bother my at all.

However, I am interested in a longer battery time so if they can squeeze more life out I'll buy it.

Still cheaper
While the 2200 mAh is the same output as the Dell extended battery it is $13 cheaper. But it would be better if it were a 3800 mAh like they make for the X5

i would love a 2200mAh batt the size of a 1100mAh one. a buldge at the back of the x50v is not the nicest thing to look at. pity thats what us people who need longer batt life are stuck with atm

Im wondering when someone will be brave enough to try a lithium polymer solution. Lithium polymer can be molded to any shape...and with say a 1/4 inch increase in thickness a battery could be made to completely cover the existing battery slot and the back of the device completely that would give several times the power of the extended battery alone. Id rather have a minimal increase in thinkness of the entire device than a single bulge that throws off the feel of the device in my hand.

Silent Knight has figured it out. It is just a place holder. We still do not have the new capacities from Mugen for their version of the 2 batteries nor do we have any Mugen Power photos. We are certain to have the information very soon, but...

However, in the meantime, we have also placed our orders for Dell branded OEM batteries for the X50 and the X30. They are now on our web site too and will be available in about a week.

If you are unable to wait for Mugen Power's version and/or prefer to buy OEM batteries, we will now be able to offer this to you. Please visit our web site and take a look at the new products.

Let me know your feedback!
