Does anybody else think $10-15 is too much for a screen overlay?
I mean none of them last more than a month for anyone who really uses there Ax. That's just an outrageous price for something that at best (or in this case worst) you can really only stand to use for 2 months!
I can't find any others that are "cheap" and so I'm stuck using a leftover boxwave from my x3i. It doesn't fit but i'm not about to lay out that kind of money for something that is only going to anger me every time I use my Ax after the first few weeks of use.
Here's mine after about 2months worth of use, that's unacceptable for what all the company's ask for these poor quality things.
Just my .02 but come on, I can't be the only one outraged by this insane pricing!

The origanal PPCTechs one outlasted my iPaq 3975. Well over 3 months. Bulldog, You get what you pay for. I'm a constant bluetooth phone poster and if I wanted a screen protector I'd go with them or Brando. Latelty I just tend to not care, (The X30 I gave my cousin for xmas looked like you could play connect the dots in that area your showing. ) but if you do stylus gaming get the good ones. They even come off easier when yoy finally have to replace them.

Okay...so you're complaining about paying 5% of the cost of your device for a screen protector? It always bothers me to see people drop $300+ on a PDA then gripe about the price of keeping it in top shape.

I spent about $30 for two Writeshield protectors for my x50v and have been using one for about a month; it shows no signs of wear whatsoever and I doubt it will for a good long while.

I've been using the same Boxwave for maybe 6 months now. $12 is in my mind a bargain. I don't think I'd every purchase another brand. FAR FAR superior to any othe protector I've used.

The way I go throught them they should last longer for what you pay. for the price of two or three screen protectors you can buy any number of good quality cases that last the life of the Ax. It seems stupid to pay what will be over $100 a year for a screen protector.
Where can I find a link for the Brando's?

the-gadgeteer was where I first heard of them. A search at that site should get you a review and a link. But there's always google, "Brando Screen Protectors" should do it. BTW WriteShields are the PPCTechs products I was talking about. Can't say I liked their supposedly lint-free cloths though. The shammy in the kit is the bomb though.

Yes, I have to admit that $12 is steep for a 2 inch piece of disposable plastic, but what are your other options?

1. Use nothing and risk ruining your screen

OR

2. Use crappy screen protectors that offer murky, easily scratched views of your VGA screen?

It's a no-brainer for me since I don't have the luxury of Complete Care in NYC- Dell doesn't allow people in NY and FL to get Complete Care so a screen protector is a MUST for me... Unfortunately, it's at a premium.

Only NY and FL? Any idea why? Perhaps some legal issue.

A high quality one (boxwave, brando, writeright, etc) should last at least 4-6 months per protector. If you are going through one in a matter of weeks, I've got to ask what you are doing!
