best screen protecters?
Im in the market to buy screen protectors for my x50 mid, and am having trouble deciding, the write shields look nice, but they are very expensive.

Ps. I want crystall clear ones

Has anyone had problems scratching up one brand, and not another?

Within 15 minutes of putting the Boxwave crystal on, I had a few words scratched into the protector. I don't write very hard, and I use the dell stylus it came with. Now there's more words on it. So does anyone know of a "tougher" screen protector for when I have to replace this one?

I'm kind of worried its my stylus, since most people don't seem to have this problem. It feels smooth, but it did scratch words into my screen already (which is why I used the keyboard thing until I got the protector). But it's really frustrating having a protector that I spent $12 on already have words scratched all over it the first day.

I've never had problems scratching the BoxWaves, and I use my Axim alot. I would suggest getting a different stylus, or perhaps and pen/stylus combo. Did you peel all of the backing off of the protector? Have you tried cleaning the protector with an eyeglasses cleaning cloth?

I've used box wave and just got the Brando in yesterday. Both are great products but I am leaning towards the Brando due to coverage on the pda screen.

I tried the protectors from my X5. They seemed to fit but I had no end of problems. I almost sent the unit back for warranty. Removing the wrong protector solved the problem.

Any unusual problems in using screen protectors?

I have the boxwave CC - and have no problems. My 2 yr 10 mo old daughter plays Slurp on it every night before bed - no scratches. I say either get a new stylus - or take 600 grit sand wet/dry sand paper to it and sand it with a drip of water. Then do the same with 1000 grit or higher to make sure it is smooth and doesn't have a "nipple" to it. Good luck either way.

sounds like you didn't remove the protective backing or else got a seriously defective one. There should have been a backing on both sides of the screen protector.

There's a layer to peel off of both sides?

I peeled off the layer with the tab that exposed the adhesive. If there's another layer on top, how do you get it off? (and why don't the instructions mention it? It doesn't seem like something that would be obvious.)
