[I think] Boxwave's products suck (Mod - theme title edited for clarity)

I didnt fork out $35 to get a 3 pack of screen covers for my axim that will come with dust and hairs already imbedded in the plstic. If you just look at the covers before you apply them you can see all sorts of impurities and dust already in the sticky part. I had to apply all three of them before i finally got one that wasnt all full of hairs. The screen cover looks nice but having to use three of them before getting one thats acceptable is an indication of poor quality control.

I dusted my axim with a lint free cloth, washed my hands and even used compressed air on my X50 and there is a still a lot of dirt and little fibers under the screen protector. Save yourself the money and don't get any products from boxwave.

Never had a problem with them myself, and I've been using them for over a year - on all five of my devices!

User error, maybe?

I think your post's title is definitely lacking in simple forum etiquette.

Moderator, can we soften it a bit?

Seems odd that they'd ship them "hairy" but like suggested, contact them for support and let us know how you get on.

You should send them an e-mail and give them a chance to make things right. They took alot of heat for the delays that they had and stepped up by offering discounts. Boxwave is one of the better screen protectors on the market.

Sorry your Boxwaves came w/ so much dust on them. I just got my Brando Workshop Ultraclear protector today and it looks great. Extremely clear, and looks to be very durable. One great tip Brando has about putting these on is to use Scotch tape to remove any dust on the adhesive side. The tape picks that stuff right off.

There is also a suggestion to install the protector in a humid bathroom (low dust) to keep out the debris. It's phenomenal how much dust can gather on the protector even in what YOU think is a clean room.

My first few attemps were unsuccessful. Even though I had wiped everything clean and used good techniques. It's just amazing how much dust is in the air.

After some frustration, I tried the humid (steamed up) bathroom method. It worked perfectly, not a speck of dust that I can see.

As stated apply in a humid bathroom.

Some other tips.

after cleaning it, DO NOT hold it on both sides with 2 fingers and shake (as shown on instructions) unless you want a nice big fingerprint.

Instead, take a piece of plastic (the package it came in for example) - clean it - then after washing apply the 'sticky' side to the plastic and dry it while its stickied. this gets all the water off both sides for me w/o any weird problems. then you can peel off a small section on *one* end and unpeel/pressure with card at the same time right onto your device

reading from the replies, it seem the product is not worth the hassle; considering they cost a lot. (comparisons to other mediocre products)

It really pisses me off that I forked out $35 for these things to see that there is already dirt stuck between the adhesive and the protective backing before I even try to put the sleeve on. I have one on now and there is dirt between the cover and my screen but its a couple of specs and I dont want to keep screwing with it anymore.

deamhan, I love all the great instructions I get here on how best to install the screen protector!

But somehow, no matter which method I use, no matter how careful I am, if I am in the cleanest, dust-free environment.......

Right before I place the surgically sterile protector on the device.....

It propels itself right out of my clumsy doggone fingers and lands on my pants or shirt or sock or anything else which plasters tiny fibers all over the @^$*#(((#@@ thing!!!

Weird! I've never seen them come with the pre-installed dirt/dust/hair like some of you are seeing!!

You may want to give the WriteShield protectors from PocketPCTechs a try. I've used them also, and they're real good. But also a bit pricey!
