X50v selfmade serial cable
Hi all,
inside the package of X50v there's a auxiliary power connector that enable us to connet it directly to the transformer.
Looking it, seems to have ALL the pin and I believe it's possible to use it for wiring a serial comm cable.

Does anyone has a reliable pinout of X50V?
If I know connection I'll try to document self construction of the cable in a someone's site.

Regards, Bubugian.

Just for 'realtime-report':
I've opened mentioned connector using a cutter heated with a lighter. It was very simple.
Connections are now visible and to solder some wire SEEMS to be easy (I've practice with soldering iron).

I hope someone could give me pinouts...

This sounds like a great project. I'll keep checking in. I'm not promising that we'll find a pinout diagram, but I'll look.

Keep us informed please!

Hi!
I have one GPS cable for iPAQ that I sold out, so I am pleased to kown the pin-out that I can modified that cable for X50v.

Since the X50v is on the way, so please tell me that connector of X50v is same type as iPAQ (22 pins x 2).

Sorry: connector are different
Tony I'm sorry but connectors are different .
Axim's connector (device side) has just one row of pin (34 in total).
In the photos present on my document, you can be deceived because two rows of pins are visible... this is the other side
(inside the shell) of the connector and not the device side.

If you plan to develop the cable, you could use the connector that is sold with device's original package (that I use in my document).

Have a nice try, Bubugian.

Great idea, Bubugian.

I'm looking for the serial pin-outs so I can connect my serial GPS device in my car for Sat nav.

I used to have my Axim X5 connected, and it ran sweet.

Anyone?

ANYONE?

Seidio makes a car kit for both wired and bluetooth GPSs, so that information should be available. The mount is $79.95.

There is also this site I have bookmarked http://www.yourmobiledesk.com/produc...00 3&mfrID=na. They have a cable to work with a serial GPS receiver for $49.95. I am thinking of ordering one, but have not done it yet. I want to use it to connect to Cisco routers and switches.

please remember to search the forums http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...ht=x50v+pinout

that thread has a partial pinout...but a full pinout for VGA....

seems like it would be simple to make a vga connector

Thanks for your help grentz, I can use search.

The post you refer to provides (some) info on VGA pinouts.

However, I'm looking for pinouts to make serial cable, as is the originator of this thread.

If you can help on that subject please do, including a link to the requested info.

In the meantime, if anyone else can help with serial pinouts connections on the X50, it would be most welcome.

Hopefully soon some more big companies can release pinouts. Really they are not ment to be a big secret, its just connections on the bottom of the machine for accessories to use. I am sure soon someone will get the full pinout

there are lots of people working on it hehehe
