Boxwave problems
Hello all,

I have been using a Boxwave protector on my x50v for a little over 2 weeks now. On a whole, it seemed fine. Pressing on the Axim screen takes a bit more force and the Boxwave made that even harder, but the Boxwave did add a nice smooth feel to the screen that (I felt) made it easier to write.

However, a couple days ago a weird discoloration began to appear in the middle of the screen. It seems that he boxwave had developed an air pocket or soemthing... or something. Maybe the sticky glue?

I dunno, but I tried to reseat my boxwave, which was a nightmare. And now my screen seems to freak out a lot when trying to write on it. Obviously the protector is placing undue pressure in various areas.

I suppose I am saying that I am unhappy with the protector. I have complete care for 2 years, so I am thinking that I might just screw it and use my warrenty if my screen gets too bad.

Just want to give a heads up for anyone else considering spending money on a Boxwave with my personal experience. I now others seem to have great results, but when on the go, I just don't need my PDA to start acting up because of a protector.

Brian!

Well I think the problem could be because of the case you are using not the screen protector. I use the default case that came with x50v and it seems to put pressure on the screen which makes a square of oil slick in the center if the screen.

Try keeping x50 out of the case for a few hrs, the oil slick patch should start reducting

Same here. Just put the Boxwave Crystal protector on yesterday, and this morning noticed the "oilslick" in the middle. I haven't tried to reposition, and have had it out of the Rhinoskin for 1/2 of the day.

Had my X50v for 3 weeks and keep it in standard case when carry it - I bent (folder out) the front of case so it doesn't press on the screen - No middle oil effect.

I noticed that this happened for me when it was not perfectly aligned in the middle of the screen. When I tried to apply it the first time it sort of got stuck under one of the edges, resulting in a pressure on the screen causing it to freak out (like if you would have tapped it all over the screen at the same time). I reseated (which I agree was quite tricky) it and now it is working alright.
