Im looking for a screen protector but dont have several hundred dollars to be able to try out each one. Im relying on what info. I get here to make an informed decision on which one I want to get. Ive been looking at previous threads and have found some dont like the dell screen protectors so my question is why??? A lot of people have said they dont like them but no one has mentioned as to why they dont like them.

Poor quality, hard to put on & take off. Adhesive backing - not good. Any of the "12 for $20" or similar disposable protectors are not very good. I didn't try Dell's, but my very first pack of protectors were similar, and I also tried a nice, large econo-pack from Belkin. I recommend that you stay away from this type of protector.
Welcome Trevor!
All depends on personal taste - and how you use your Axim.
If all you do is tap, tap, tap, your screen will last as long as your Axim, barring dropping, banging, etc. If, however, you play games where you're dragging the stylus around the screen, or use handwriting recognition a lot, you will see permanent scratches on your screen - and it doesn't take long. Also, if you occasionally use a stylus that's built-in to a pen, there's a very good chance that you will sometimes accidentally write on your Axim with an actual pen tip! Once may or may not scratch; doing this more often definitely will! And if you've gone and spent at least a few hundred on your device - and replacing the screen costs $150 to $200 - why not spend a little to protect it?
The three brands mentioned most are
Boxwave,
Brando, and
WriteShield. (Click on the name of each to visit their web sites). All are non-adhesive and are removable and replaceable. All are a real pain in the rear end to get on, but it does get easier over time. (And I think you get a little more forgiving of the occasional bubble or dust speck over time!

)
Boxwave can be washed under water and shaken dry, while the WriteShield is cleaned by applying scotch tape to the back and then pulling it off. Both have worked equally well for me. Also, both may have introduced different cleaning methods since I last purchased, so check their respective web sites. I haven't used the Brando, but have read very good things about it. I would say that all protect equally well and are equal in ease of use. Which you prefer should be based on personal preference (of course you won't really have one till you try each!), and, of course, which is offering the best price when you decide to buy!!
There are a lot of threads on protectors here at Aximsite, so you should do a search on each of the brands I mentioned and read up. Some folks just tout their favorite and say all others suck; some whine about the price; but most are informative. All the companies are reliable, have good customer service, and stand behind their products. That's based on personal experience with Boxwave and WriteShield, and from reading posts from Brando users.
I've seen several threads where folks were experiencing shipping delays from Boxwave. I personally have never had a shipping problem with them. I did have a pack for an X3 that did not fit very well, and Boxwave said they'd double check the measurements and re-cut a set for me. Shipped them to me at no cost and paid for me to ship the originals back to them. So I'm happy with their service! Usually the shipping delays occur when they offer a big price break and get deluged with purchases.
WriteShield, from PocketPC Techs, are (or were when I purchased) a bit more expensive, but they ship very fast and their support people respond similarly fast. They also have some very good (and very expensive!) cleaning solutions and cloths available there.
As I mentioned before, I haven't tried the Brando protectors, but from all I've read their products and service are similarly excellent.
Good luck with your new Axim!
