Hi,

I hear people talking about this item but what is it really?? Im a little lost as to what drives are what and how this works. Can someone explain for the axim newbies??? Thanks.

Well Its kinda exactly what it sounds like Is a MIRCO (hard) drive. Basicly is a hard drive with spinning platters and heads . But in micro form with ( I think ) 3.3 v input..
Be careful when buying one for the Axim as I have found most OEM microdrives dont work. You need a full retail version of them . I purchased one from compuplus for 154.00 compuplus and made sure they were sending me a retail version. Their mini hardrives so take care of them just like they were normal drives . A few people have dropped them and never recovered their info off the drives . Maybe some expert in the area can chime in with more info..
