Removing SD Cards from X50
What is the easiest way to remove an SD card from the x50? I've heard that you can push it in, and it will pop back out, but mine wont't do it. To make matters worse, I have a SanDisk card that I got from Dell, and the groove to grab it is on the wrong side. I have to use my nails to get behind it and pull it out. I'm afraid of breaking either the card or my axim...there has to be an easier way...

I have the same problem with my digital camera (not getting it to pop out), so I think it might be me...how hard to you have to push to get it to pop out? I'm so afraid of damaging my axim, maybe I'm not pushing hard enough?

I'm sure there is another post asking this same question, but I couldn't find it. I apologize for the duplicate post...

I cant get mine to pop out either so what I do is give it a little more force by using the tip of the stylus and that triggers the SD card to pop out! Hope that helps

You do have to push in rather firmly but it will pop right out. If a gentle push worked, it would pop out accidentally. Thats just for the SD. You pull out the CF.

When you remove the "plastic blank" from the SD slot, push it in just like you would a card. You can pull it out but it leaves the slot in the wrong position.

My Sd card ejects really good...

In fact I was on the bus the other day, and while using the back end of my stylus to push down on the SD card in efforts to remove it, the stylus slipped off and the SD card came sailing out and landed on a ladies open purse sitting beside me. I looked at it thinking, should I just pick it off? Mmmmmmm no, better ask her, she was an older lady, and the way my luck was going she would catch me doing it and scream er something.
So as she was peering out the window, I said, excuse me, but my ltttle memory card just flew out of my little device and landed right in your purse.
Well she looked at me as if I was up to something... and as she put the death grip on her purse I noticed the SD card fall into the pit of the unknown.
Honestly mamn, could you please look, it was right on top when I seen it last. "i will sit in the next seat while you look" please!.

So I sat in the seat on the other side, waiting with baited breath.... As she was peering through her purse, she pulled out what I thought was going to be my little SD card, But she pulled out her reading glasses. Oh crap!
As she was continually fumbling through the "pit of the unknown" she was continually looking at me as if I was going to "pull a fast one" on her er something.
Part way though her treasure hunt she looked all flustered, and looked out the window, and in a panic reached up to ring the bell to signal the driver she was getting off at ther next stop. Nooooo....just my luck....Mamn I said , I know it is in there!!! Well she politely told me , she was getting off at the next stop and she would look when she arrived at home. I then reliezed her mind was made up and that was all there was to it, I offered her my card with my cell phone number circled on it. That afternoon she called and said, yes I found a little square object the size of a postage stamp, blue in color...YES Yes that's it. She said she would leave it with the door man at the entrance to he appartment. On the way there I picked up a thank-you card and exchanged that with the envelope the doorman had wating for me.

Alls well that ends well....

PS I now keep one finger on the card when attempting to eject.

I just push mine in and it pops out, nice and easy, and like the X5.

My biggest problem is with my old IBM 1GB Microdrives! They're a nightmare to get out.

thanks everyone! the stylus idea worked like a charm!

i think my mechanism was stuck, because now it pops in instead of just sliding in. it comes out easily when i push on it with my thumb.

thank you all so much! i never would have thought to use the stylus...

p.s., funny story, tommyg, i'm glad it turned out ok!

SD Woes
first post here so pardon any snafu's....
I use my thumbnail for the SD and CF card, I keep them long enough to do this and open pocket knives. I did have a problem with the Kingmax 1GB SD card which is slightly thinner than other cards. Had it in my digital camera to take some pics to transfer to the PPC and it felt different going in, well when I tried to take it out it would not move at all when I pushed in to make it pop out. Scared me to death as this was my main MP3 storage media and it was stuck in my digital camera! Got a very small pair of needlenose pliers and gently pulled and it came right out.........WHEW....saved!
