Well not really, you have to do a little work first.
I got tired of digging for my stylus with my almost nonexistent fingernails so I went out looking for an alternative. I went in to a local Radio Shack to check out what they had to offer. The Belkin 4-pack Sony Clie styli were the closest in length so I got a pack ($7.99).
When I got home I put one in and was dismayed to find the thing stuck out almost an eight of an inch from the top.
Now one of the features of these Belkin Sony styli replacements is that they have a thin ridge with three vertical grooves on the end unlike the wide stubby end of the X50s stock stylus that was giving me headaches,
(well fingeraches really
).
I took a razorblade and placed it in the center groove and worried it down to the body of the stylus then with the razor flat on the stylus body I worried my way up to the original cut removing two of the four teeth so to speak. Lo and behold,! It fit! Now I can use my finger instead of my fingernails to get the stylus out. I did the same with a 3 in 1 Sony Clie replacement stylus from semsons.com ($3.50), and it fit too. Now I'll always have a pen whenever I carry my X50.
What do you think? This was my first PDA Mod so be gentle.
